Re: Brian's 2017 NO. 10 LATE TIGER 1 BUILD
Thank you Tom, the wash I used here is a pre made recipe from MiG Ammo paints. It comes in a bottle but you can make your own wash by diluting any oil based paint and covering the model with it then wiping it off with a rag. After you wipe the thinned layer of paint off it will highlight the recessed areas and contrast the lighter higher areas where the rag wiped it off. Of course a quick internet search on washing technique will bring up plenty of how to guides.

That's looking good Brian. Did you use paint masks for the markings or did you make your own stencils?

Brian, there's something about the quality of your photos which makes them stand out. I see you're somehow managing to upload very high res images to the Forum but that doesn't entirely explain the outstanding quality. Could you please tell us what camera and photo editing software you're using? I'd love to produce a Knowledge Base Topic on photographing and videoing our models but don't have the expertise. Great model too. Stephen

Stephen thank you for your interest. I am only using an iPhone X right now (soon to be iPhone 11). The most important thing is lighting and I have installed hi powered LED lights in the shop. I also have a photography degree and did have a short career as a professional photographer. My photos are being hosted on Flickr. I simply upload to Flickr and copy and paste the BBC code. Even though I know people got burned by photobucket I’m not worried about losing my pictures if something happens to the site. I like to enjoy the seamless high res quality for now. I am paying them a small monthly subscription fee although they do have free accounts.Stephen White wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 9:39 amBrian, there's something about the quality of your photos which makes them stand out. Yes Vince. I have the sheet of the tank from the 102nd you were looking at. Do you need it?Vince Cutajar wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 7:09 amThat's looking good Brian. Did you use paint masks for the markings or did you make your own stencils?

I was just curious. So I guess the paint mask from FOA worked well. Haven't used mine yet.Yes Vince. I have the sheet of the tank from the 102nd you were looking at. Do you need it?

Thanks Brian, so it's more skill than equipment. I've almost stopped using a digital SLR now in favour of an iPhone X with DJI Osmo gimbal. Since the Photobucket farce, I've been uploading direct to the Forum with a limit of about 2Mb per photo but I might go back to Flickr. Thanks again. Love your build.

That ammo for the MG really looks real. Also reminded me that some day I need to get that ammo sack also. Is that an FOA item?

Re: Brian's 2017 NO. 10 LATE TIGER 1 BUILD
Even though this project got stalled i thought i should give the forum a little update. I was putting the electronics back inside for RC and had no sound so I had to troubleshoot the problem and it turns out I may have blown the sound module by accident so it is getting repaired now. As soon as I get it back I will put the tank back together and continue finishing it.
