Post by David Brady »

Hi,

Build has commenced on kit number 05...well got the tedious part out the way, 224 track links assembled.

Compared to my king tiger tracks, they look a little narrow for such a heavy tank.

I'm thinking of adding the holes to outside edges of the track as pictured below.

A jig for accurate drilling and some tests to identify how much tracks will be weakend will be required.

Looks like you might have to break them down again to drill those holes ?

Hi,

450 holes later, tracks have all been drilled...I'm pleased with the result.

Hi,

To anyone building a Ferdinand or Elefant I can recommend the books pictured below, as I'm building a elefant I was a little disappointed to find that the headlights had been removed when the tanks had been overhauled as the lights Steve Winstone supplies are a great detail to add, found this picture in Tank Power 406 that has a line drawing of a command Elefant with headlights..little more investigation required to hopefully uncover a real photo
