Re: Late Tiger 1 commission build by Phil Woollard
Hi phil,
my intention was precisely to stimulate research and observation of the true engine. When I say that it is not difficult, it does not mean that a child can mount it, but with a minimum of manual skill and a lot of patience, you can get a great result.
You're trying what I'm saying. I can say that the advantage of my engine is that you don't have to work on the parts, they are all very precise, or at least, very few adjustments. I sold several engines and nobody complained about anything. Too bad that only a few wanted to publish the montage or express impressions. I have mounted engines from other manufacturers and I guarantee that they are no longer simple, but they need many interventions and corrections to make them acceptable. However, they do not have these details that you believe are "fantastic" and not true to the real engine. Congratulations again for the assembly. Ivano

Thanks Bob, it is a lot of work to condense into just a few months rather than a few years though!
Some finishing touches to the noisy oily end then onto the turret, oh I'm just wiring the coolant fans to run proportionately with the engine revolutions first thing this morning. The inner hull detailing will have to wait until we get the turret interior and turret basket as I have to manufacture the hull floor around all of that.

I'm just green with envy! Just loving this build Phil. Can you tell me how you achieve the small chipping effect on the canisters? Did you use the sponge method are chipping fluid? I have tried the hairspray method on the exhaust shields but I'm not sure if I like that method.

"...all the pipe work is correctly connected and if it were real would need bleeding right now to remove the air".
Real or fake? Not sure. Better safe than sorry!

Re: Late Tiger 1 commission build by Phil Woollard
Update, never got started on the turret as I decided to detail the other side of the fire wall and turn some leg supports and start on the hull floor. I'm still not sure what height the floor should be but I can simply adjust the legs when we have the turret basket.
Has anyone got good reference photos of the hull floor showing the fan next to the flywheel and the turret gear box and drive, all of it really?

Hi Allan, the chipping was done using a fine craft shop sponge on a stick, it's in scale for the air filters. Hi Vince yes those brackets are that well known brand of very useful bits and pieces, eBay, box of assorted are just a couple of quid.
