Interesting guy's. The position (the final position) is up to you using the reference photos out there, there seems to be a little difference over the T1 time line development.
Some more progress on the engine bay, this engine bay assembly is becoming a model in its own right. 8)

I can work on the assembly (for now) on the bench but it will soon be slotted in the Tiger, only ever to be removed for maintenance.

Thanks David, better get out there and make a start. 8) The part of the fire wall that the Maybach bolts to, the bit bit that protrudes into the engine bay, I have no idea how deep to make that, any ideas ? Maybe I will make it telescopic and slide it up to the engine when that's fitted.

Phil, just a quick question. What material did you use for the engine bay walls?

Hi Vince, 2mm plasticard, you will need various other thicknesses to, also a large selection of the different "Plasticard"or "Greenstuff" profile pieces to form edges, detail parts, bolt heads, pipes the list goes on and it all cost an arm and a leg but what else can we do? It will bring out the model artist/craftsman in you! 8) Ebay has a large selection.

More shenanigans.
I hope I'm not going into to much detail! The brass exhaust unions need to be turned down to help the with the air vent fitting, it's the same diameter just the hex section reduced, see below.

The rear of the air vent fitting bored out to <br />130mm centres to except the exhaust pipe unions. If you go down this route you will need to ad some width as it's just not compatible as it is.

The engine plate ready but not drilled out until I have the fully assembled the Maybach for reference. Note the water pipe fittings have a threaded core, this makes for a very strong bond which wont come apart easily.

As I have had to drop the radiator and fan cluster down a few mil I may have to raise the fan drives up to suit the engine couplings but I will have to suck it and see.

Maybe it's late for this information, however these are the exact measures
Attention, the "arsenal of the east coast" clutches for my engine are out of scale, too big.

Attention, the exhaust pipes of my engine do not line up with the smoke pipes, on my 2010 model, Armortek has not respected the scale heights. Maybe the later models have been modified, I don't know.

Hi Ivano, do you keep the correct fan clutches in stock? Looking at your clutches there's not much in it. Thanks for the measurements of the engine mounting plate, ref the exhausts height I have a plan, maybe this newer kit is ok, I will see when the Maybach is built. Regards Phil.

Hi Phill, it's a shame not to use Mr. Grima's fans, with a little work they can be improved. Remember that if you put the covers like real fans, you won't see any defects.

Phil, the tooling marks were left on purpose as I seen some imperfections on the real unit's casting / forgings, and wanted to incorporate these in the sets. If you want to remove them a swipe of red glazing / spot putty will make short work of it.

Also like Ivano said there is a guard that fits over the cluster that covers most of them up. Now that you have the compartment sections fabricated this can be made out of a length of plastic card or sheet metal. Which was why I never included this part with the sets because depending on the width of the compartment this part would be better fitted to the vehicle after the compartment was up, other wise you run the risk of making something too thin or too wide.

A very quick up date. Now as we have very limited room in the hull due to the engine bay, engine and the turret basket taking up most of the available space we need to think very carefully about where all the workings will go...so this is the plan, see below.
