More progress although as the parts become smaller and require more work things seem to slow down some what.

A little more done.

- The fixings for the inner sprocket tooth ring are just not long enough so I have used the next size available and will have to grind them back as they are now to long (better to long than to short). The sprocket ring thickness seem to be within .75mm difference so I selected the narrowest for the inner position.
-
- After test fitting the sprocket it was found that the inner surface of the sprocket hub required some light machining so the sprocket could be aligned correctly on the final drive gear shaft. The other sprocket required no adjustment. Thanks to Kian to agreeing to remedy the sprocket problem but I decided to machine myself.

Had the same issue with the sprocket bolts. Used M2.5 X 10 instead which were perfect. Like you I also had to machine one of the sprockets inner tapered hub. Although I was offered to send it back I machined it myself with the help of a drawing that Kian sent me.

Hi Vince, I'm still working on those sprockets this morning then off out this afternoon on my Harley, just got to get the wind in my hair! . Sounds like yours will be a perfect runner with all this attention to getting the engineering just so but it's very satisfying

Yes Phil, it is satisfying giving the model the personal touch and it gives me also an excuse to continue using my tools before they get jealous of inattention.

Just a quick update from yesterday.

- A tip, don't force the taper lock, after de ragging the sprocket the taper lock should fit snugly in the taper, if you hammer it home you could crack the piece as it is brittle cast iron. The gub screws will pull it all up tight and evenly. Do remove the taper lock when you paint, this keeps it looking smart and professional.

Thanks Phil for all those useful tips. Please keep them coming. They are the sort of information that people like me who are newbie Armortek builders need.

Hey Phil,
Did you chamfer/champher the teeth on the sprocket ring as stated on page 15 of the manual?
Thanks for your great insight on your build!

Not yet Larry, I want to see how it runs first. I do have another quicker method of taking the edges off the teeth. My pleasure with the insight and hope the tips help.

Phil
Loving this build! Can you tell me where you get your lettering and what sizes do you use? Really looking forward to seeing more on this build.
Many Thanks Allan

Hi Allan Ebay, Slaters Plastikard, I have a stock of different sizes but tend to use what looks best, sometimes as with these sprockets just a tad bigger than is correct otherwise they would be lost!
