Helicoils

Post by Simon Peck »

Dear All,

I need to replace some of the helicoils in my suspension bars. Can you advise which make, type and size I need so as I can order the correct tools?

Thanks

Hello Simon,

I also did replace some helicoils for my tiger 1.

I have a set from the brand Phantom size 1,5-D M6-1,0
If you buy a set the tools to place the coils are included.
I will post a picture later in the afternoon.

Best regards Yves

Hi Yves,

Thanks for the reply. Did the Phantom helicoils fit without having to re-tap the existing holes? Do you have a source for them as I couldn't find after a quick search.

Kind regards,

Simon

Hello Simon,

You can take out the helicoil with a narrow pliers,
and if necessary you can re-dril the hole, but normaly if you can take out the helicoil
you dont need to re-drill.

The Phantom set i bought in my country: Belgium and the company name is Tollenaere.
Best regards Yves
