Gun elevation problem

Post by Nige Dalton »

Hi all.

Anyone else having problems fitting parts for the gun elevation as part of the motion pack?

The main problem I seem to have is motion pack part CL0489, Elevation slide, fowling with the interior contours of the turret. It doesn't appear to be just needing an edge filing off to allow it to fit, it looks like quite a substantial job, which makes me wonder if I've missed something obvious, but I've tried it every which way but can't get it to fit. With the Elevation slide fastened to the CL0483, Recoil Bracket, the bracket will not sit flush against VL0408 , Gun base.

As an aside, or maybe not, the slots in the slide are such a tight fit against the brass lead screw nut CPO208 they won't slide . This may be just a case of opening up the slots in the slide. Just 2 problems with the same piece got me wondering.

Anyones thoughts would be gratefully appreciated.

Nige

Hi Adrian

Thanks for trying but the difference between the Stug and the tank are considerable in that area. It looks like the way the gun is connected to the stationary parts in the hook/turret are different.

Doh! For some reason I thought you had a Stug

A picture of how yours looks would assist in diagnosing the problem.

Hi Nige

I had the same problem.
I ground the top outside corner off, as per the images.

Hi Pete

Many thanks. Looks like it is a simpler solution than I thought. If it is just that top corner thats fine, I thought it was the bottom fowling as well. Nice to be re-assured before I set about cutting pieces off! I was worried I was going to have to attack the turret. And i now know what Sunday afternoon has in store for me. Many thanks Pete, much appreciated
