Very real indeed these track links! I wonder how much the full set cost Bruce for his Panther?

Oddly enough, that's not a fake, as Meng Models do a 1/35th kit of it:

I thought this was a nice pic with the dust kicking up it looks so cool and unreal. This is literally the fog of war and a very inspiring picture to try to mimic with some 1:6 Armortek models. If I could just get a couple Elefants in front of my camera that would be nice! Too bad I’m swimming in other projects right now. Oh well. It’s still fun to dream...

That's a great photo Brian, taken by the guys that were riding the cool R75 outfit in the "foreground right", That photo would have gone to the very top (as in Mr "H" himself) the top brass loved to see their big guns in action.

This thread, as in "real or fake" was conceived to help us model builders make better models and so ultimately take better photos!

When you break the photo down it has all the ingredients for a master piece, excellent subject matter, really only one big AFV needed to reproduce it, just add a relatively cheap plastic side car outfit, a few buckets of sand, some smoke (lots of smoke even a pile of leaves from the garden will produce good smoke). then get down on your hands and knees and click away down load and edit!

The silhouette of the vehicle in the background could be added in the edit as few of us would have two of these monsters. The dust over the tracks can be replicated by simply pouring very dry sand or better still soil dust directly on and over the tracks, then drive forward and film away. Your better off videoing these days and then cherry picking the best frames in the edit. Another tip, keep the frame as small as you can, you will notice that the low budget films ( those really crappy cheap action type from the States for example) keep the shot as close to the action as possible, lots of corny closeups, this negates the need for expensive back grounds/locations and extras walking about. ....Phil.

Wow! That dust rolling up from the tracks looks like cotton balls that have had a light spray dusting of spray paint.
