Re: Jeffs 25 pounder
I wanted the stowage shoes to be functional, and tried to adapt the kit ones, I ended up making them from scratch, quicker in the long run they just need cleaning up and the tops trimming to size, also remade the stowage brackets and reworked the levers

Re: Jeffs 25 pounder
made a start on the lifting lugs for the hand spikes on the rear of the trail, I started with the base, cutting off the three brackets for the cones and adding some extra length to the rear, remade the cones in brass and made the hinged locking bars, they look a mess at this time as I have a lot more silver soldering to do, foot pedals and the spring housings to make, these keep the pedals in place, this is how far I got today

Inspirational Jeff, it’s a treat to see skilled craftsmanship taking a kit to an exceptional level of detail. Love it.

Re: Jeffs 25 pounder
foot pedals made for the lifting lugs, just need to rivet the side lugs into place and shape the base

Re: Jeffs 25 pounder
Awesome Jeff! Even the plungers to keep the catches locked are there (at least their housing/tubes, but I assume the spring and plunger will be in there soon)!
Accidentily also finished my platform securing levers, will post those soon!

Re: Jeffs 25 pounder
Its has been 3 weeks since I worked on the 25 pounder, (rebuilt my flight simulator) so today I made the hand spikes, steel shaft with brass tips, also the hand spike brackets and the belt loops, as well as the lifting bars to the sides of the trail and spade, I used a 12" figure to check on proportions, sorry no clothes

Re: Jeffs 25 pounder
A little more completed, the kit seat is a bit basic, so as others have done I fabricated the bracket from brass with a wood top to the seat, then used the figure to make sure the position is correct
