SW Model Show, Autumn Edition. Tank Museum 13-14 Oct

Post by Stephen White »

Some photos from the SW Model Show at the Tank Museum. The new event team at the Museum were getting to grips with the organisation of a big show but nevertheless were able to give us a good indoor area next to the M3 Grant, appropriate given the latest Armortek model announcement. Dave Dibb brought his Armorpax stand and was showing the first prototype of his new and long awaited Larkspur radio ancillaries. Simon Manning brought a small selection of Armortek parts, including the FAMO chassis and the display attracted attention.

Thanks to everyone who made the effort to attend. We'll be discussing next year's shows with Kian, Monique and the Tank Museum over the winter.

Best regards

Stephen

Actually, the Events Team were VERY impressed with the Brownies - but they want to meet my wife now ..........

Just got home after Day 2 - just me and Dave (Armorpax) this time. The highlight was meeting a REME veteran who serviced and repaired Cromwells and Churchills prior to D-Day - he was delighted when I took him (and his two sons, both about my age :?) along to the Real Things.

Apart from that, I just wiled away my time counting rivets and bolts on the M3 Grant ........

All the best,

Chris

An enjoyable day, except for the walk back from the car park, when the heavens truly opened.

Rosanna and Natasha did an amazing job of not only providing us with an appropriate area next to the Grant, but also managing to get our comrades in the UKTC and SAG indoors in the face of the decidedly inclement weather.

Thanks to Denny for breakfast, Dave for refreshments and Helen, via Chris, for the delicious brownies.

A special mention in despatches to Stephen for quietly pulling this little gettogether out of the bag with his usual aplomb and at very short notice.

At the end of the day, I even found out it is possible, just  , to get three tanks in a short wheelbase Transit Connect
