Did the British use them much as well? I read on Wikipedia they were widely used until pretty recently in some countries.

Yes the British used them along with everybody else as they were popular in the recognisance roll, they were fast and could offer a certain amount of protection and get you out of trouble quickly!

I had chance to take the Tiger out today for a some pictures, some have the focus backed off a little, all I have done is convert to black and white.

Would be interesting to try and recreate that shot next year. There are a few Monty head sculpts which are quite good likenesses.
According to Mike Starmer, that camo should be Dark Green over Desert Pink, though there were some substitutions allowed.
