Somerset Festival of Transport

Post by Adrian Harris »

You know when you see the pictures online of the long slim legs pointing out over the empty beach to the turquoise sea beyond ?

This was the view from Denny's tent at Frome on Saturday   :

We got there at around 8AM on Saturday, and it rained from 10AM till 9AM the following morning, whereupon the organizers did the honorable thing and cancelled the show :( :( :(

Even sitting right at the back of the tent, my jeans were soaked through to the knees.

I think we saw about 20 people pass the tent during the time we were there, and they were probably all exhibitors as well.

Can't win them all I suppose

Apologies to Steve and Fiona, for dragging them up the M4 in such horrible weather, but at least they managed to abort and divert to see family instead

Sounds about right. Sunday afternoon at home was glorious - cold but clear blue skies and lots of sun

Good for drying though

Just north of Frome at Thornbury the day was sunny and warm. We did unload the Van and the Cromwell was used to train/acclimatise our friend's small flock of sheep to the sight and sound of model tanks. So not a total loss of a day!
