A bit more progress, the fuel tank has now been constructed and attached, the next job is to build the guidance section which is located above the alcohol/water tank, (the red bit, the rockets fuel tank) and just below the war head, everything slides into the rocket body nicely, as you can see I have had to create bulkheads to centre the internal structures , thus keeping everything plumb and supported . Most of the internal detail will never be seen but we all know it's there, Although i will provide tantalising glimpses of the detail through cut away sections of the body ........Phil.

Some more progress on the V2?
The rocket motor outlet cone is very clean in its fresh coat of grey, I have no idea if each motor was test fired before deployment but I think I will weather the combustion chamber and jet pipe all the same.

nice how it comes together, I like the technical details of the V2.
Only a suggestion for the trailer question, another option only for transport is the Vidalwagen.

Thanks Christian, I have just ordered the 1/35 kit to use as a template/reference kit. The Vidalwagen looks fairly straight forward to build if a little light weight, I just need to source some more suitable wheels as I really need to construct the light panzer recovery trailer from those 88mm bogies that i have.
I wonder if Armortek will produce the recovery trailer some time soon, i think it sure would sell well with all those half tracks inc the Famo out there.
I must post a want for maybe 6 wheels and tyres, or contact Monique to see what they might have in stock.......regards Phil.

Now working on the telemetry guidance section then on to the warhead. I suppose the internals could be on display along side the rocket body.

The Dunlop has 150mm outer diameter the Continental 135mm.

Interesting web site Christian, the Armortek tyres fitted to the 88mm bogies are ; 160 OD, 95 ID and 35mm wide. I would rather have Armortek wheels and tyres and hubs but its down to whats available regards Phil.

I can't find the real tyre sizes from the trailers, but the Dunlop should fit the Maillerwagen and the Continental the Vidalwagen.
Schink and Pistor ( https://www.pistor-modellbau.de/shop/reifen/1-6/ ) also have nice rims for the trailers, better matching
than the Trilex rims.

Thanks Bob, as I said I will be filming a tethered engine burn but its going to stay firmly on the ground!
I never really intended to go this far with the V2, well not to this level of detail anyway, I do a bit, think that's enough, then take another look at the research and add some more detail.
There are many different types/marks of the vehicle, with as usual a mix of different components gradually being refined down until the systems all work as intended. It's fascinating to say the least, and as I was involved with research here in the UK of a scaled down V1 (back when I was an engineering apprentice) all the more relevant.
Cant wait to hook it all up to the Famo and see if I can make it all look period and convincing on camera!
