The V2 project
As my extension is now almost finished I shall be starting one of the many Armortek projects awaiting my attention, this one being the infamous V2, as time is precious I have decided to purchase a LOC precision V2 kit, this being the closest model V2 rocket kit in our scale on the market at present.
It's not entirely off topic as the transport trailer is made up from the Armortek 88mm bogie units and the whole thing will be pulled by the new Famo.
My plans are to fit the rocket motor, fuel tanks and guidance systems either on view through cut away sections of the rocket body, or as a highly detailed assembled V2 which can be pulled apart exposing the internal workings and mounted in various configurations on or around the trailer.
Here's a link to a video of the LOC V2
Although capable of powered flight our model will be kept firmly on the ground but I do have plans for tethered motor firings which will be posted to our youtube channel......Phil.

Re: The V2 project
Wow Phil this will be stunning esp with FAMO towing it. Excellent details on the rocket motor. Very ambitious project! The rocket must be about 5-6 feet tall?

Re: The V2 project
Thanks for all the interest guys, I hope it will be something different and interesting for all. The V2 kit is on its way from the
States as we speak, it will be a challenging build to say the least at around 10 feet long including the Famo!....Phil.

Re: The V2 project
Great project. Also had the idea for a V2 in 1: 6. For reasons of space, I have but refrained. The V2 / Meilerwagen is over 2,50m long.

Re: The V2 project
An up date of my thoughts and plans using archive images for reference and inspiration, please feel free to contribute with images and ideas guys!
The V2 project scenario;
1....It,s not been captured.
2....It's serviceable/complete.
3....It requires transporting to another location.
4....It has a nice big Famo to pull it many miles along rough roads.
5....Maybe it's on it's way to be viewed in Berlin?
Im looking forward to shooting some video of the towing operation, it should look way cool as it slowly passes the camera on a dusty road, the Famo barely breaking into a sweat as it does so.
I may use the Bergepanther "A" to begin with as the Famo will take a while to build.
I could also use the Quad to pull it, either as a captured towing tractor or off for evaluation by the British (would it be powerful enough?)............Phil.

Can't wait to see this in the flesh.
