Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Great photos Chang! Looking at the spade/winch lifting eye and hook position, it seems far to close to the spade pivot point to be functional? I wonder if the pulley frame above the rear tailgate was used to pass the winch cable over and so pull up and lower from there?
I thought that photo that you posted was real for a minute ! ..Regards Phil.

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Found another two 1/6 scratchbuilt FAMO threads in the SIXTHARMYGROUP website:
http://www.sixtharmygroup.com/forums/sh ... hp?t=21427
Which shown the same FAMO (but added a SS license plate) as I'd posted in 9th floor on 04 Mar 2018. A R/C FAMO already?
http://www.sixtharmygroup.com/forums/sh ... hp?t=12448
Which shown she towed a FLAK37(?) Regards,
Lerh Chang

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Since it’s release is known about beforehand it would be interesting (if possible), to see something of the survey/measuring/design process.

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Good evening Gentlemen
We are pleased that you are all as excited about the FAMO kit as we are and we fully understand that you would like an update with information on the design process, which is running smoothly.
However, we are currently in the middle of getting 3 kits ready, with dispatch starting at the end of this week: the Rolls-Royce Armoured car, the Silver Ghost Chassis and the Engine kit. Packing up and dispatching these 3 kits simultaneously requires all our attention and we therefor hope you can bear with us a little bit longer. We will post details on the measuring and design work of the FAMO in about a fortnight.
Thank you all for your patience!
Best wishes,
Monique

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
From our April Newsletter:
SD KFZ 9 (FAMO)
Update on progress ... we started the R&D process at the end of February/ early March. Thanks to The Wheatcroft Military Collection we were able to spend a full day photographing and measuring an immaculately restored full scale version.
With all the amazing machinery on display, it was difficult to stay focused (!), but with 436 photographs, 19 pages of sketches and over 100 measurement points we made good progress.
The biggest challenge so far, has been the running gear - but good news to report. - we have designed a track that has rubber pads.
The images below show the progress to date. Still a way to go on the design front, but we remain confident of a summer release.
RESERVATIONS FOR THE FAMO WILL CLOSE SHORTLY AS WE COMMIT TO PRODUCTION NUMBERS. IF YOU WANT TO RESERVE A KIT, LET US KNOW SOON.

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Superb guys and bloody well done to get those rubber pads to work! Lots of people will be very happy including me, looking at Mark standing at the front of the vehicle gives you an idea of just how big the 1/1 is and just how big the 1/6th is going to be, a real show stopper.
After spending some time listening to the examples on youtube the vehicle creates quite a din from the running gear at it travels along, the engine noise is fairly loud also, maybe the recorded sound file could have the Maybach and some of the running gear clatter, this would be something else! Maybe Thomas could add the extra running gear noise as part of the sound selection function instead of one or two of the seldom used personnel voice files ? Phil

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Should there be more suspension travel on that Famo ?
It looks to me as though you'd smack the sprocket and idler every time you went over any kind of ridge.

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Hello Guys,
the FAMO is my absolut favorite Model ever... So I'm excited to get one of these...
I have the PAK43 an the 251, so this FAMO will complete the collection.
The rubber pats with these scale chain, are one of the best ever in ARMORTEK colection I think.
Looking forward to get more images

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Thanks for the update, it looks good so far. Hopefully the suspension will work in a similar fashion to the original?!?!
