Bailey bridge info

Post by simon_manning »

Here are some photo's taken from a very interesting and old 1945 book concerning the building and location of Bailey bridges as the Allies advanced across Europe during ww11, as far as i am informed the book is very rare and is only 1 of 2 that he has ever seen, i have access to the book so any info needed by you Bailey bridge builders i can help to a degree, photo's etc.
There are lot's of good quality photo's in this book and very informative but it is a bit fragile being 73 years old, regards simon manning.

A great book, although it's not all that rare. There were several thousand printed by the BAOR in 1947 and they were all sold to serving RE Officers. The RE Museum has about 10 copies and I have two here at home, one of which is in excellent health and the other had fallen apart at the spine....which made it so much easier to scan on an an A3 scanner!!
