Oh no... I did it! Bought a (used) Tiger 1 mid.

The circled bit just looked odd to me, maybe just my eyes playing tricks on me.

I agree. This is the default configuration:
There were various mods recommended by owners to stop the wheels rubbing on the spacers, so your tank may be wearing one of these mods.
You will see when a wheel starts to rub as it rotates in the wrong direction as the tank moves along.
Adrian.

I think the wheels assemblies may have been modified with a more correct size spacer, worth doing on the older models, nice. , regards Phil.

I noticed Marco's tank has upgraded track pins too (I'm still struggling with the starlocks).
I didn't manage to find a matching picture of the real thing.
Not really relevant but saw this image for the first time. Bit of restoration needed

Tunisia Feb/Mar 1943. One of a famous series of photos of destroyed panzers at Hunt's Gap. There is no doubt that the tanks were wrecked by demolition charges but attribution is debateable - both the Germans and British reported destroying tanks in this area between 27 Feb and 2 Mar.

Well, actually, the outer roadwheels do not always move along, the spin indepently, at least when I tried driving around in the living room.Adrian Harris wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 10:52 pmThere were various mods recommended by owners to stop the wheels rubbing on the spacers, so your tank may be wearing one of these mods.

I do not know about any mods, apart from the fact the owner told me he had all wheels modified to have 'double ball bearings'?

Been working on the gun mantlet to see if I could get more of a cast structure.
Spraying Mr. Surfacer 500 didn't actually do a lot, I guess I leave that to WAY smaller models. Ended up making my own putty/superglue mix. Man you need a LOT on a 1:6 model haha!
Not sure how much I like it, yes, there's more structure, but still not nearly as much as I wanted. But hey, I love the details I'm adding to my big cat!

Did a ton of work this last couple of days!
Tested my new clay/candy tool! Perfect!
Well... perfect if you cut it in half.
Happy!

But how does it secure the tracks on the top part?
The lower part is resting in the hole for the track pin of course. But on top it's loose...

Hi Marco,
The upper hinged part has a small ‘u’ shaped handle, that isn’t really a handle, it’s a lock which locks the device down, stopping the track link from bouncing up and off the lower bracket. Pulling the handle out unlocks the upper hinged bracket.

Thanks Simion! Well I can make them 'click' but it puts the hanger flat to the turret, vertical... Did I describe that correct?
Or are you talking about the real Tigers?

Yes, I was talking about the full size, 1:1 Tigers.

Hahahaha almost broke mine.
Anybody who knows how to fix these 1/6 hangers?

Have a search through the Tiger 1 topic (which is where this thread should be ) and there are a few posts about the spare track links.
One of the popular solutions is to drill through the link and turret side, tap a thread in the turret side, countersink the hole in the track link and then fix it in place with a countersink head screw. You can then fill the hole in the track link and it appears to be held there by just the hangers.
