Problems with sound unit

Post by David Hopkins »

I have an early tiger and a mid tiger both with the original sound units when I built the tanks and wired in all the electrics the sound units worked for the first (five minutes) and then they stopped and haven't made a sound since, pardon the pun. Is this a common problem with the original sound units or something I may have done wrong with the wiring? Although I believe the wiring I done is correct beacuse everything else in the tank works. Can anybody shed any light on this?

Hello David

The early sound modules from armortek Are allright but you do get the sounds coming off and on when required. I would recomend that you upgrade the sound to the new benedini system. Its very good also you get 8 sounds on it.

Hello David ,
i also had a similar problem with my early sound system in the tiger1. I changed the switchers for the turret rotation, and gun elevation to esc,s and this cured the problem. In some cases the switchers give back emf ( or so i am told ) and this affects the sound system.
The later Benedini system doesnt suffer the same problems , and as Lee says its much better .

Hi David

The switch units are the 2 smaller of the Electronize units. They are use to control the turret rotation and gun elevation motors. They look like the one arrowed in the picture below

If you need any more info, look at the Electronize site at http://www.electronize.co.uk/model_elec ... frames.htm

Hope this helps
