Re: Famo 18 tonner.
This looks a very interesting model. Will be interesting to see what price bracket it falls in.

Agree about the FAMO. The PAK 42/43 was too heavy for small trucks or halftracks. I would order one if it is offered. I know German equipment sells better I would like to see an American 105mm or 155mm gun with halftrack. If they bring back the German panzer III, it would be nice to see a Matilda to fight against. Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Getting closer to the magic 30. So far 24 people have shown interest in a FAMO & with Phil W looking to get 2 that means we are only 5 away from the target.
We will post an update on the pricing later on today.

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Not many things excite me these days but the Famo sure does, I already have a list as long as your arm for diorama's and video work.
I don't know very much about the smaller halftracks that Armortek have produced, I think this big un will need twin motors one for each track ( in my mind it has to be functional and be able to pull like it was intended to), the tracks would need the rubber blocks for grip as I wouldn't think she would have the weight/traction when pulling say a pz111 or a Tiger 1, although she will be heavy!
A winch a crane a gun mount a wrecker crane a spade, the list goes on.
I already have an old FOA Panther "G" for the towing and recovery duties..

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Hi Phil
There is a great spot in Aberdeen train station.
I went there when i ordered my tiger and earned a fortune.
The ladies paid me to go away as I was driving the punters away
Looks like this could be happening guys after all our years of plugging it

Hi,Kevin Tomkinson wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 6:12 pmHi all,
As Dennis says it will be about 4 feet 6 inches long. A big enough bit of kit to tickle our fancy, very imposing. Fingers crossed.
All the best
Kevin
Just measured my sdkfz 7 and it's 42 inches long Famo will be an extra 12 inches long if 4 foot 6 inches is correct
Cheers

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Well well ... some of us older forum members have waited a long time for this to happen .... can it really be true ... seems a long time since I wrote this
Oh dear what a shame.
Whatever happened to the Famo campaign,
A hardy few pinned their colours to the mast,
when... with baited breath we dared to ask,
build us please a kit beyond compare,
tis true we said ...we want a Famo fair.
Some wanted a gun fixed on the back,
some seemed happy just to have the crack,
yet we who yearn for something more,
we already knew the score,
we needed numbers quite a few,
to come and stand with the trusty few,
who know the game and what we want,
an sdkfz nine is that for which we truly pine.
So come on builders far and near,
you know your very welcome here,
to join the few and swell the ranks,
then once again we can all give thanks,
So go on Mark and Gill...give us all a happy pill
Tis the season of good will,
of that we all are sure,
a few more months of waiting we can patiently endure.
But give us please a hint or mention,
that it may one day be your intention,
to swell the rows of model tanks,
with the mighty Famo that was used to recover those tanks,
we know what we want,
we know who to ask,
so as you open your hip flask,
to celebrate Christmas now and past,
please remember those who wish to have delivered from their list,
A Famo shiny bright and new,
that we can celebrate with a heady brew,
and raise a glass to Mark and Gill,
at this season of good will,
a toast of thanks,
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night"
Cheers Paul.
