I’d have one! What about a Fries gantry crane as the next Kompact kit to tow behind it? Small geared electric motor to lift a Tigers Turret?

Definitely the way to go, if there is an actual list to put your name down to and when it reaches the 30/40 mark it could happen, it would also be good to get updates on the numbers too so we would know within a few months if it was realistic or not.

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Looks like there is some real interest out there .... So far we are up to around 10 people who have expressed an interest in the FAMO ... so thought we should provide some more details, so that you can make informed decisions !!!
We have a cut off of at the end of Nov in order to get it into production by mid 2018. That means that we will need to have 30 confirmed bookings by end Nov, so we still have a few weeks to go.
If it looks like there is sufficient interest, we will open up to bookings in mid Nov '17 and, given the risk on this one, will be asking for non-refundable deposits at that time. Of course if people pull out at that stage and we cant hit the numbers anymore and don't go into production then deposits will be returned.
We still need to work through the costings on this, but it will likely be around the top end of the figures cited by Steve L in an earlier post. Will have the final pricing by the time we open for bookings.
If we cant hit the mid Nov cutoff, there is still hope for the FAMO, but production is then end 2018 or 2019.

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
A thought....... since it typically required three Famos to pull one Tiger, would it be possible to design in a method of ‘linking’ Famos together, a bit like railway locomotives at the head of a long train, the lead Famo doing the steering and subsequent Famos ‘slaved’ to it? That way maybe we need three each!

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
Hi all,
Just plugging the Famo 9 18 ton half track. We only need 15 more names on the list and we maybe get this fantastic piece of WW2 machinery in 1/6th scale. What a big imposing model it would be! An impressive machine that all who own WW2 German tanks would be glad of in their collection. A real must have.

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
I hope prospective buyers realize that it will be approx 4 ft 6 inches long. The real thing being nearly 28 ft long.

Hi all,
As Dennis says it will be about 4 feet 6 inches long. A big enough bit of kit to tickle our fancy, very imposing. Fingers crossed.

Re: Famo 18 tonner.
It is true that the FAMO hull will be longer than any other kit. That is more attractive to me. "Size does matter!"
