Decals or Transfers in 1:6th

Post by Phil Crowther »

Can anyone point me toward a supplier of 1/6th decals for my Quad? I have neither the printer nor expertise to try myself.

Phil, you'll struggle to find.anything for the Quad. The only company which specializes in large scale decals is Peddinghaus in Germany:

Their range is almost exclusively German, as you'd expect. They might do bespoke decals for you but at a price.

There is also an Italian decal company, Cartographics but I don't believe they do any large scale stuff.

Do you know what you want?

Regards.

Stephen

Hello Phil, I use Pyramid Models. An on line service. You will have to upload copies/photos, size, etc, of the decals required. They will then reproduce your examples in stick on vinyl. Look at my 'Quad' build. Not exact replicas however, easy to apply. Peddinghaus are probably some of the best.....mick

I have used Peddinghaus for decal for my British Jeep I sent them the artwork I wanted and they made the decals with no problems they were very helpful, I did post some images a while back with British markings but Photobucket has removed the images if you need them I may be able to host them again or send you them via email.

Hi Phil,

I had the same problem, I looked at many websites but was unable to find what I wanted so I designed my own and will try to use printable decal paper. It's trying to find paper that is thin and strong enough.

Regards

Dave

Dave, they look good. There's a link yo the paper you need here:

http://www.armortek.co.uk/Forum3b/viewt ... &start=885

Scroll Down. As I mentioned, it is important to give the decal sheet a couple of light coats of an acrylic varnish, to stabilize the printing and to give the decal some body. Paper by Expert's choice, acrylic varnish by Citadel Purity Seal.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for the comment and it's good what you can do in a couple of hours on AutoCAD and thank you for the advice and link regarding the decal paper and the finishing.

Phil,

Good luck with your research and the mortgage.

Regards

Dave
