Hi Phil,

I strongly hope and wish that this guy will visit the 'museum's day' festival in Röthenbach / Pegnitz, Germany, also in 2018! He has a fascinating 'total recall' ......... :!: So he could tell me exactly how to adjust the brakes of the Pz IV in the only functional way to avoid bucking (?) of the steering brakes: using a postcard under the brake collar......... :)
kind regards
Gerhard

Russ

The drive train consisted of 2 Maybach HL 120 engines. The engines drove a single Siemens-Schuckert 500 VA generator, which powered two Siemens 230 kW electric motors, one each connected to each of the rear sprockets. Should be interesting to hear what the engine sounds like on the models sound system.

I have been inside the one that was at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. (It is now over there) When I was stationed there, the Army decided to conduct a study that would determine how long/how to gain entry into these beasts in the event of a fluids leak. The Elefant was chosen. This was back in 1991, as I remember. I had a couple of rolls of film, but they have long since disappeared.

The wrenches, and most of the OEM was still in place. The breech is immense, as I recall, and the fighting compartment very crowded as a result.

Pulling guard duty at APG was, for me, like being a fox in the hen house. I loved that duty station!

It's not been that easy to find the right sound, but after a few weeks research we think we are getting closer.

Definitely one - nil to Armortek.

Maybe have it programmed into the sound module as one of the extra sounds ?
That way if if one of the owners are ever asked if that was the way it really sounded....

:P
