Hoping for US vehicle

Post by Ray Brown »

How many people are hoping for a US vehicle next? If so, which vehicle?

Myself, a sherman, lee/grant or halftrack.

There's been a few German tanks which most people have.

I would like an M3 as well, though it would have to be the Grant, not the Lee.

An HVSS version of the Sherman would be a change, and a fitting opponent to the Panther.

I had a chat with Mark on the day of the Great Company Sale Reveal back in February, and said that I'd thought the next model out could be a sort-of 'Ultimate M3' with optional parts for a Lee or a Grant, and possibly even a Priest. He smiled, and said that was in his mind too.

So, IF he's done any preparatory design, and IF the new owners of Armortek like the idea ..... it could happen. That's all I'm saying .

All the best,

Chris

Well, he's got the sponson from the Mk IV already. The running gear for the Sherman is similar, though it would need new bogies with the return rollers on top. Everything else rivets together like the Mk IV, so the funky Grant turret would be the only difficult bit.

Rivets :D and lots of them, I think the tracks could do with beefing up for a Lee or a Grant, even if they were slightly over scale.

Personally I would like to see an M4A3 Easy-eight Sherman with the HVSS suspension, been hoping for this variant for years and would be a nice change from German vehicles.
Or even better the Israeli M51 Super Sherman as put out by Tamiya in the last few years. Or perhaps an Ultimate HVSS Sherman giving more than one option :D
