Smoke unit 2003

Hello,

Only fourteen years after manufacture I turned this on It seems to generate enough smoke but the fan (through the four small holes) seems a bit feeble.

The new Armortek design seems to use a totally different type of fan. An impeller design?

I'd like to simulate sort of thing.

Best just to find a fan like the current models?

Hi Sam, have a play around with different pc fans , they are relativity inexpensive. I have been working on this subject for years, the newer smokers use a snail fan which provides tons more air

I assume a larger hole to match the output of the fan. 10mm diam-ish?

I only get a few hours a week so experimentation time is a bit limited. Plus I was foolish enough to do home brew sound, recoil etc...

There's a sweet spot with the hole size, where too large a hole means the airflow can defeat the heating power of the element, so you start to get smaller quantities of smoke.

I'd love to be able to reproduce the quantities and speed of the smoke output in this video for my T-34:



But I've found that a fan powerful enough to achieve this effect tends to also blow the smoke oil out of the box!!

Adrian, perhaps you can find an old wiggytronics smoker for tanks. That should do the trick. It worked with the TBS 5 sound card.

I have two (1 tank each). They can be regulated but in full mode they smoke like the devil



Or use the 1 or 2 - 12 v Super smokers (made in australia). Can be used with ESC.
