I always wanted to know if the elefant was driven by all 4 sprocket wheels at the front and rear? If not why is there 4 sprocket wheels on this beast of a tank :?:

Hi Russ

The elefant is driven by the rear sprockets only. The track is run very slack so that it drops below the line of the mudguards. The front sprockets drive the main brakes and allow the slack track system to work.

Chaps, one more request. The Tank Museum have asked for proof of third party liability insurance cover in advance. Could you please send me via email to Gill or PM a scan or photo of your proof of cover? Would you also please carry a copy on the day.

I'll put out more details closer to the event but in advance:

- Arrivals will be from 7am, to allow us a clear run.
- We will have our own parking and running areas in the Tank Story Hall.
- Vehicle passes and wristbands will be issued on arrival rather than posting them out.
- The Museum is not able to offer secure storage overnight on Friday as the Education Room will be set up for Tiger Day. Sorry David, I tried.

Best regards

Stephen

Stephen -

Certificate duly sent to Gill, as the file was too big to attach to a Forum PM.

Re: Armortek Event: Tiger Day - Proof of Insurance

Post by Armortek »

A reminder please to those coming to Tiger Day VII on 29th Apr to send me your proof of third party liability insurance. I've had seven so far, with nine still outstanding. Grateful if you'd respond as soon as possible.

If there are any other customers who would like to come, there are a couple of tickets still available.

Regards

Stephen

William, there are a couple of you who'd like to deliver on Fri but the TM staff were unable to offer us any dedicated storage space (I'd asked for the education too but it's in use). I can ask if it's possible to deliver late on Fri and you could mind it until closing time. Would you like me to see if that's possible? Thanks for your insurance docs.

I'm still short of a few replies with proof of insurance. If you haven't yet sent a scan or photocopy to Me via email to Gill, could you please do so soonest? Thanks

Stephen

Re: Armortek Event: Tiger Day - Joining Instructions

Post by Armortek »

For those of us going to Tiger Day on Sat 29th Apr, here are the final joining instructions.

Registration and Setup Main unloading and setup will be between 0700 and 0830. Please arrive between these times. It will be possible to unload on Fri between 1030 - 1500 but the Tank Museum will be open to the public and there is no secure storage.

On arrival, please:

- Report to the Registration Point, sign in and get your vehicle pass and wristband. You may be required to show proof of third party liability insurance, although I've already emailed most of the certificates to the Museum.

- Then go to the back gate, park and unload, as quickly as possible. Entrance to the Museum will be via the fire door shown below.

The Parking and Running Areas inside the Tank Story Hall are here:

- Finally, move your car to the Tradors' car park here:

Timings

- Arrival and unloading: 0700-0830
- Event open to public: 0900-1730
- Museum closes to all: 1900

Third Party Liability Insurance Please make sure you have valid insurance certificates to hand.

[/Safe runningb] Please have another look at the Guidelines for Operating Armortek Models safely in public here:

We're fortunate to have space in the Tank Story Hall but it will be very crowded throughout the day.

That's all. Looking forward to catching up on Saturday.

For anyone unable to come, there is always TankFest 24-25th June. I'll be putting something on the Forum about this soon. Accomodation in the area is always at a premium, so if you're intending to do more than one day, book a room as soon as you can.

Best regards

Stephen
