Re: Model Expo 2017 at the Tank Museum, Bovington
Hi, Paul. Done.
I've now got twenty names, which should be fine. If anyone else would like a ticket, I'd like to know pretty soon so that I can talk to the Tank Museum about increasing our allocation. Happy New Year to one and all.
Stephen

Re: Model Expo 2017 at the Tank Museum, Bovington - Update
Thanks to all who asked for tickets for Model Expo 2017. I've a total of 20 names. We should receive the tickets and car passes during this week and will aim to post them to you by the beginning of next week.
I'll confirm arrival arrangements and layout closer to the day but in outline the provisional plan is:
- arrival Friday by 1630 for those who wish
- arrival Saturday probably between 0900-1000
- parking area: N Africa section of the Tank Story Hall
- running area: area between N African area and the Centurion/Churchill (as for TankMod)
- Tables - I've requested 4 for Daves Backway and Dibbs, Mark Lawson and Denny Patterson
For Peter Quambusch - I'll include a ticket for Stefan with yours.
More as I get it from the Tank Museum.
Regards
Stephen

The event finishes at 1630, all off site by 1830. Please register on arrival with the TM staff at our dedicated desk at the unloading area.
Wristbands and Car Passes:Gill has twenty and will be sending them out to those who requested them in the next few days. Please fill in any missing fields such as vehicle registration.
Unloading/Parking:
SmokersJust a reminder not to use smokers in the Tank Story Hall.
A letter with further details will be with your passes.
Looking forward to a good day, first of the season.

Re: Model Expo 2017 at the Tank Museum, Bovington
For everyone who asked, your wrist band, car pass and instructions should have arrived by now.
Could I suggest that we all remind ourselves of the guidelines for running models safely in public? First show of the season, no harm in refreshing our understanding, here:

Thanks and looking forward to catching up on Saturday.

Re: Model Expo 2017 at the Tank Museum, Bovington
I hope everyone who attended Model Expo enjoyed themselves, despite the unloading chaos. I've shared some thoughts on improvement with the Tank Museum staff. Nevertheless, it was otherwise a well run and well attended exhibition, with a strong Armortek presence. Some images:

Re: Model Expo 2017 at the Tank Museum, Bovington
A very enjoyable day, even with the traffic (mis)management.
Many thanks Stephen for taking up the baton of Show Organiser.
Surprisingly few breakdowns during the day, so I actually managed to spend most of my time talking to people
Good to see so many 6th scale vehicles there, spread throughout the various club stands.
Adrian.

Re: Model Expo 2017 at the Tank Museum, Bovington
It was a great opportunity to break out of 'Winter Quarters' and meet up with everyone again. Plenty of great models on show, and good stories to swap. The shambolic organisation by Bovington did let it down, though .... but it's a new show for them, so hopefully it'll be better next time.
Massive thanks to Stephen for the admin. - onwards to Tiger Day ! And hopefully some good weather in between to finally get some painting done ....
All the best,
Chris

Thank you Stephen for being the head organiser of this day's event. Very much appreciated.
It was good to get out and shake the sleet off for a good day of conviviality.

Re: Model Expo 2017 at the Tank Museum, Bovington
To add my thanks for organising the event, it was worth it despite the long drive in somewhat inclement conditions. The parking/loading situation was a tad farsical, summed up for me by a car pulling right up to the door so that a 1/16 tank could be hand carried into it..
Nevertheless a good day was had.

Hi Stephen,
Great to see another wee Tiger on the prowl inside Bovington Tank Museum.
Super videoing.
Wish I could have been there?
