I suppose in an ideal environment the gears would be isolated rather like a differential , totally sealed and lubricated with hypoid oil, the pressures between the metal surfaces are huge and the lubricants job is to keep the surfaces from ever coming into contact with each other at a molecular level, but as we are running scale models to what length should or do we need to go to, if you are running the model moderately follow the advice from the team, if you are dead keen and take her to every show possible maybe lubricate accordingly ............horses for courses , I'm off to bed now and no I won't be needing lubricant lol

Hi Andy
The 2 metal rings with the 5 holes in, are meant to be used as bore guide for boring the 3 holes for mounting the newer style motors
I would really like to get these as I need to do this to my old Tiger 1, so if you dont need the I would like to buy
