Hey, Denny, now if you could roll a transporter with a tank on it, that'd be spectacular. Very Happy New Year to you and all the Armortek community.

Easier with a trailer than on the bridge, I would have thought.
There's enough videos on YouTube of highly trained Army types getting it wrong

Re: Next model.
Getting back on track, how about a T-54/55, as an opponent for the Centurion
Allegedly the most manufactured tank in history, and used all over the world.
Usual basic Russian design, so not much in the way of bells and whistles for detailing.
Only downside is the need for new track links
Adrian.

Re: Next model.
Hi Adrian
I agree it would be nice to have a Russian tank to face off against the centurion.
For what its worth the T-54/55 would get my vote.

Re: Next model.
The Yanks managed to tip over a transporter with an M1 Abrams on it in Saudi Arabia in the lead up to GW1. This was on an elevated portion of the MSR going north from the rehearsal area to the assault area. The transporter had been recovered or "removed" when we passed the location, but the tank was on its roof and in big black letters between the tracks were "Other way up"Stephen White wrote:Hey, Denny, now if you could roll a transporter with a tank on it, that'd be spectacular. If a Russian tank is considered, why not the latest T-14 Armata?

Re: Next model.
Um, some interesting ideas here, including the modern stuff. I guess Mark might not get a friendly response if he asks the Russian Defence Ministry if he can visit one of their secret establishments to measure up an Armata.
Availability of an accessible example in UK must be a factor in any new model, together with "will it sell". Now, I know where you can find a few old Chieftains.....
I love what people like Chris Hall and James Tzeliki achieve in researching the operational history of a particular tank and so it's important for me that any new Armortek model has a real and accessible operational record to tie to a particular example. The Matilda 2 would qualify, whereas the Russian stuff wouldn't. That said, here's a picture to brighten your day:

Re: Next model.
It's rather curious: as far as I hear, the german WW II - models -and here especially the Tiger / King Tiger- are a worldwide 'mainstream' for tank lovers, and many manufacturers in the world can make a good deal with them.
E.g. though the Leopard II is considered by some folks to be the best tank in the world, even in Germany the Tiger cats are more beloved! In USA the Abrams is a very impressive tank, but the Tiger models are even more wanted, so I am told.
Each manufacturer is forced to sell all his products to adequate prices to survive in a worldwide market. Therefore I fear that niche products will have not a real chance to be developped.
Another possibility could be the same models in other scaling, e.g. 1/4 scale. In Germany / Swiss / Austria there exists a growing scene with this scaling, and the CNC- machines probably could be easily shifted to other scales. Why not produce a King Tiger in 1/4 scale? This would be a very impressive model, so I mean.

"Bigger is better" is the idea for me. If possible, I would like to build a 1/4 King Tiger.Gerhard Michel wrote:.... Why not produce a King Tiger in 1/4 scale? This would be a very impressive model, so I mean.
The only problem is a 1/4 KT will be over 500 kg!
So, once again, FA MO please.
