Now I think we have been here before but, would there be any interest in a Ssys rail car kit with a piece of track to display your panzer On ?
Just think of a German steam loco too in electric form ,.........I've gone all weak at the knees

You mean something like my 1/8 scale SSyms Köln (in steel and alu);










You need to decide if you´re going to build a 4-axle railcar (SSys Köln) to transport Panthers or a 6-axle (SSyms Köln) to transport the Tiger I and II.

I think it´s a nice idea and I personally think the SSys Köln (4-axle) is the better choice, shorter, fewer axles and wheels thus easier to transport.

That's the Johnson ! Wow it looks great Per. I think I would opt for the big one to carry the bigger cats....... tell us more, like which parts are off the self, like bogies etc regards Phil

Yes, the bigger the better or? A SSyms in 1/6 is going to be a huge thing to move around although it won´t be that heavy (not like a locomotive of course).

Well, everything on my model is scratchbuilt except the rails which I bought from England. Of course this is a superdetailed model and that´s the beauty of scratchbuilding - you set the standard. If you want to offer a 1/6 model you´d have to simplify things.

If you look closely in my first link you´ll find in the bogie photo that my axles are fixed in brass bearings as I wanted to be able to have my 1/8 Tiger II on the railcar and this was the best way to get a stable platform.

Some fantastic dedication there Per,I must confess that I was hoping Armortek might indulge in such a kit, my thoughts regarding such a massive piece of hardware from Mark and Gill would be to offer a very basic kit of parts to keep the cost down then allow the customer to detail as they feel fit, if we were filming with the ssyms for example some detail may not show up in a stand off shot and so would not be necessary.
