Is there a grease that helps to wear down metal?

Post by Stewart Ashton »

I am having a struggle to get the barrel unit to slide comfortably on the gun cradle.
The fit is very tight and I was wondering if there was a graphite type grease that would help the units to bed in together nicely without having to resort to files and things?

Regards Stewart.

I wonder if this would work?

Hi Stuart, not to sure about the grinding paste, make sure, the assembly is square, I used a fine flat file from a set of needle files to remove any burs along the edges, as the slide is quite long, the fit does not need to be tight

Hi Jeff,

Everything is square and I have filed all the burs in the grooves but still a tad to tight.

A little grind should sort it.

Take care

Regards Stewart.
