Jagdpanther gun removal

Post by Kevin Tomkinson »

Hello again,
My gun motors are jiggered on my JP so I need to remove the gun from the tank. I can find the mounting bolts in the rear of the gun but cannot find how the saukopf comes off. Does anybody know the secret? If you do I would be tremendously grateful if you would let me know so that I can fit 2 shiny new motors and finally have a working gun.
Best regards to everyone who reads this.
Kevin.

I've got a feeling you have to unscrew the barrel to free up the mantlet, but I've only ever worked on the JagdPanther in the field, so can't say for certain.

Hi Adrian,
I have spoken to Mark who tells me the gun has been modified and is not as standard. I have removed the whole gun assembly from the glacis and am sending it to Armortek to see if Mark can sort it out.
Many thanks for your help and suggestions, I feel sure I will get into trouble sometime in the future.
Regards
Kevin.

Sorry to hear it wasn't straight forward but if anyone can get it sorted, Mark can.
