Yes it seems to have vanished. All I could find was the owner is intending to contest the seizure in court as the gun was deactivated. If that is the case it could be sitting impounded somewhere for years while the legal wrangling takes it's course.
Stil I would have expected some news of it's whereabouts to have surfaced by now.

Hello there,

the tanks and the anti-aircraft gun is stored by the Bundeswehr.
The tank belongs Klaus-Dieter F.
The action is now on the political situation in Germany.
The Bundeswehr helped in 2011 with two employees of the Bundeswehr WTD 41, to remove the engine and restore the engine.
The staff took five days to install the engine again.
For this, the Bundeswehr received 28000€
The tank was never at war.
The prosecution relies on the steel armor, which was not completely removed.

yes it does look a sad situation as an onlooker, but once the state gets involved anything can happen and usualy does, the individuels rights go out of the window, especialy these items that are not p.c. and in private ownership. regards simon manning.

Going to be an interesting story.

So let me get this straight, The guy kept the tank no secret, even used it as a snowplow one year, had the army remove, refit and replace the engine. Now a bureaucrat noticed he did not properly demilitarize the panther since he did not remove the armor.

How do you remove the armor from a Panther?

Probably they wanted it for a museum.

I am sure I have read some where that you can not own privately an armoured vehicle unless some of the armour is replaced with normal steel plate.

This one has been hard to follow. If it were America I would say he pissed someone off or someone saw a political opportunity, like Sue the T-Rex. But with all of the political baggage a Panther would have in Germany...

Who knows who this guy is or his political leanings I saw a lot of historical artifacts lying around his house besides a Panther and an 88 mm flak gun that might have different implications in Germany than here.

I am used to wide open free speech and ridiculous gun rights, I draw a blank on this one.
