With TankMod just a week today, please find final updates on this event below, by necessity this is quite a long post, please take the time to read it as it does include important and hopefully helpful information about the day.
1. Arrival and departure arrangements please see topic 'TankMod - arriving and departing'
The entrance referred to in the above post i.e.. 'the doors at the back of the tank story hall/green gate' is going to be extremely busy. Please follow warden’s directions, space will be tight. Unload as quickly as possible and move your vehicle to the car park to allow others to unload.
As an alternative anyone who is able/happy to carry/manoeuvre their model through the museum, should follow the directional signs marked ‘Armortek and Tank Mod Overflow Parking’ and park in the gravel car park. Once parked, follow the signage marked ‘Tank Mod Registration’ and a member of Tank Museum staff will direct you thereafter to the Armortek Registration desk in The Tank Story Hall.
2. Registration.
Here you will collect your pack with wristband (which will entitle you to 10% discount in the restaurants) & your afternoon tea voucher. You will be given a number and data sheet for your model/s, please attach. Your number will be collected at the end of the day and put into a raffle for a Kompact Kit 25 Pdr.
3. Model Parking Please see Stephen White or Chris Fry who will show you where to park your model. Tables will be available for the smaller models/Kompact Kits.
4. Vehicle Conservation Centre (VCC) Tour, a limited number of places will be available for an escorted tour of the VCC at 11.00am Please register at the Armortek Hub. If the first tour is over-subscribed, a second tour at 1 pm may be possible.
5. Afternoon Tea and Presentations from 2.45pm on the balcony/mezzanine upstairs.
Presentations to the Competition winners and raffle draw. Vouchers for the Afternoon Tea will be found in your packs given out at registration. We will have a limited number of extra vouchers available, so if you are a visiting customer without a model, please see Gill if you would like to join us.
6. Guinness World Record The record attempt requires a photo showing all the models, which is also a tradition of Armortek Customer Open Days. After the presentations, Stephen White will explain the layout to get everything in. Please return to your models and move them into position as quickly as possible. There will be two photos, with and without owners. The winners and their models will also be photographed.
Additional notes:
- During the afternoon tea, a Museum Warden will be stationed in the model area to keep an eye on your models while you are upstairs.
- There will be chairs provided in our area, so it is not necessary to bring your own.
- There will be a running area for the models within the Tank Story Hall, please be aware of members of the public when moving models outside the marked running area. Please note that we have been asked that model smoke systems are not to be used in the Museum.
- Power extensions for charging will be available
- Insurance. Anyone who does not have their own Public Liability Insurance will be covered by Armortek's insurance for the day. This is subject to the models being driven in the cordoned off area and no under 16's driving.
- Tamiya Hall Café will be serving drinks and light refreshments from 07.30am on Saturday morning.
Departure from the museum will be from 4.30 pm exiting either directly from the Tank Story Hall or alternatively back though the museum if you can. It is inevitable that with everyone leaving at the same time it is going to be extremely busy and good humour and patience will help this process.
Most importantly we wish you are very enjoyable day.
Gill and Mark

Re: Tankmod - Final Important Information
Stephen,
This may sound a stupid question, but I'm going to ask anyway. Will there be room to put the 88's on a table I'm just concerned that my bogies aren't finished and it's a bit delicate to be around size 9's.
Paul.

Re: Tankmod - Final Important Information
Paul, rest assured that we've asked for tables for all the models without motive power. All the best. Stephen
