battery choice

Post by bryanrmassie »

Hi Guys

Looking to get battery/s for the Sd.kfz 7, do I need 2 x 12v 7ah, or 2 x 6v 7ah, its just that I cant find any 12v with terminals at either end, you know to join them with the link cable.
Any advice welcome

Cheers

Bryan.

Hi Bryan
Its 2 x 12 volt 7Ah they have spade terminals on you
may have to make up a new link cable if not in the motion pack when you get it.

Hi Bryan,

You can now get 12 volt 9 ah same dimensions as the 7 ah from Component Shop £14-41 as they are on sale at the moment. I have used their batteries in all my stuff with no problems. The batteries we will be using in the SDKFZ 7 will only have the 2 terminals at one end but I would think that Armortek will supply the correct link cable for them in the option pack.

Hi Guys

Thanks, yes I do have a link cable in the pack, it's just that it would be different from the set up shown. So is it ok to have both the battery lead and the link up cable at the same end ? or am I just being a bit thick ?

Cheers

Hi Bryan
I to use component shop for my batteries and they are first class.
Yes the terminals are at the same end on this size battery and it is fine to have them
at the same end as long as they can't short out.
Also take care to ensure they cant short on the metal body work of the kit.

Hi Derek

Yes, I wondered about them shorting but I'll give it a go on the bench test and see. The 7 coming along nicely, have her stripped right down ready for painting, I felt like a bit of a vandal to be honest after you building it up !!, I may have to acquire a few new tyres though as you made a b@@@dy good job of gluing them on ha !!

Cheers

Bryan.
