Hi all, I was half hoping that when I bought my Panther just before Christmas that it would have been completed by now

Anyway, I am now hoping to bring it (complete or not) to the Open day.

Is there anywhere to run the tank at Bovvy Tankfest or is it just static display?
I only ask as never been and both shows in Germany had large running areas with displays?

Cheers

Tim

Hi Tim.
Unfortunately the available running area at Tankfest was quite small with just a little mound of rather stoney earth piled up waiting to brake your tracks. With so many owners and their tanks at the show running was really only possible with extreme care so as not to damage any other tanks. Dortmunds running area was far bigger and better, hopefully the Tank Museum will provide a bigger area next year.
Regards
Steve

Yes it was a shame that the space we had was smaller than last year, we had been promised the same size as last year, however there had been an error when space was allocated. This culminated with the extra models we had this year, meant that it was indeed very tight. I have already spoken to the Museum and we should have more space next year.

I gather from one of the volunteers that building of the workshop extension to the VCC building is to start in the new year which means there will be even less space. Perhaps they should reduce the size of the VIP area or get rid of it altogether as it takes up a lot of room !!!!

if the event gets bigger and more popular, on the ground common sense will proberbly go out the window, on my arrival at 7 am to enter the show i drove around the back of the mueseum along the archive road to enter the gateway, when a young girl in the hi-vis vest told me i had come in the wrong way, could i go back around and do it the right way!, i was surprised, but then changed her mind seeing that my car was in the entrance already with a tank in the back and all relevant passes on show and i was the only vehicle going in at that time, strange! regards simon.

:D :D I spoke to the boss man before I left, and suggested, they have 3 days which they are thinking about, and I agree about the VIP, freebees and they come out of the wood work, there are of course the exceptions.
