DIY Paint Shaker

All my acrylic paints and enamel filters, washes etc sit on the shelf for months with the pigments settling out. When I come to use them, I don't want to spend ages shaking by hand and my electric stirrer (bent bit of wire in a drill) just sprays the paint all over the workshop.

Then I came across this very effective way of mixing paint on Missing Lynx. It requires one of those very cheap model clamps (£5 for 2 in a well known DIY store) and an electric jigsaw. Just grind the metal clamp bar to the same size and profile as the jigsaw blade, lock the clamp in the blade holder, clamp the paint jar and shake. It works a treat and is super quick.

What a novel idea

I presume if you have a jigsaw with a soft start facility, you could adjust the ferocity of the shaking to suit the paint.

And if the paint jar does come adrift, you can sell the result as a Jackson Pollock

I am more worried about the Mug. If it was me at work, I would be suggesting that it should be safely out of the way. Spilt tea is a disaster!
