I recently picked up another Late Tiger. It was built but in need of some TLC. Sorry I did'nt get pictures of before but could'nt wait to dismantle and strip old paint off.
It's a 2007 release. Here are some pictures of progress.
I would like to build this as a command vehicle but trying to keep build costs down. I will have a go at the antennas but might fit the storage tube.
Think lots of Gloss enamel. Domestic paint applied with a brush. Luckily not fully painted. Nitro moors would'nt strip it so i TORCHED IT. Eventually everything came up like new. No wear at all. Looks like tracks never touched the ground and electrics as new. It was a bargain.
Here is a better picture of the new floor. Allows easier layout of electrics. Also I intend to add some forward detail to my tigers such as gearbox housing and radio equipment so I need a forward floor. Also started cutting my revised alloy deck support which I hope to detail further soon.
your normal superb build john. One thing i would like to point out in my experience: i have just had the false floor removed from my KT due to the huge logistics in getting at the torsion bars. i.e you have to remove everything just to make a small augustment on one torsion bar.
many thanks
bob

Hi Bob, if you look closely at the fitted floor you can see holes wich allow access to the grub screws. Anyway I have very little time to actually drive the tanks so do not adjust too often. Slso the new roof supports are easily removeable to allow easy access.
I was thinking about making a new turret bin from brass but will use the kit bin for now. Rivets added and main bin assembled. I need to make some new bin lids.
Armorpax track hangers. 2007 kit had no aftermarket parts.
The kit hatches were replaced with armorpax Radio operator and driver hatches. Nicely detailed parts. I have done some work on these to make the locks functional. Also replaced a few of the parts to strengthen.
