Hi Steve,
This is very interesting upgrad. Can you explain more details about the works and how does it became "Adjustable"?
Have you enlarged more 18 holes on two suspension bars (CK0105)and inserted into 18 more shorten suspension shafts (half-cut-off CK0202 & CK0203, shown in circles)with shaft clamp screws?
If NO, please advise how did you do?

The suspension bars had to be machined by Mark of Armortek to accept the new torsion bar fittings, the bars also had to be shortened slightly.

Hi all

We are currently having a major re-organisation in the factory with a new mezzanine floor and upgrade of some of our CNC equipment. In the short term this is inevitably causing a lot of disruption. With the increasing number of model productions our stores area had become very overcrowded making it impossible to keep everything accessible and organised. The new mezzanine will give us a much larger area for the stores which will address this issue. However, as the saying goes 'it often has to get worse before it gets better' and at the moment accessing spares is very tricky.

Once the work is complete, apart from being able to supply individual spares in a more timely fashion, it is our intention to look at offering 'upgrade packs' where appropriate on older models. We will post all the details on the forum once available.

In the meantime we appreciate your patience while the work is competed.

(1) What are exactly these circled parts shown in your photo? Are new parts or simply the shortened suspension shafts (CK0202 & CK0203)? With 2 screw holes, they do look like them.

(2) What do your mean when you saying "the suspension bars also had to be shortened"? Why? I don't see your suspension bars (CK0105) had been shortened. Do you really mean the torsion bars (CK0204 & CK0205)?

Sorry to keep asking about your works. They do look better, and worth learning.

The circled parts are new and not part of the origional suspension setup, these were ordered from Armortek.
I also shortened the torsion bars not the suspension bars as you noted.

I am sorry but I don't have the information you want, the build instructions went with the tank when it was sold, Mark at Armortek should be able to help you with all the required parts when the re-organisation is complete

I have watched John Grima's film about Tiger 1's suspension upgrading:


Which looks similar with yours (from 5:35 to 7:05). I like this upgrading. But will only start mine later, after the Armortek finish their workshop's upgrading soon.

Also I found there are two smaller holes & bolts (in yellow circles) on the side hull:

Is this the new version? Or did you drill two smaller holes yourself and inserted bolts in?

The bolts you have circled are details that I have added, I do not know if this included in the later King Tiger issue.

What's the purpose to drill 2 small holes then insert bolts in beside each torsion bar hole? Are they there functionally or for decoration only? What function is it?
