Hope it helps

Re: Shackles & MG 34 Mount
Hello John,
The MG mounts that Mike sells are made in brass,
and that is stronger than white metal.
For me it is better in brass than white metal and certainly if
you put a MG in the mount.
regards Yves

Re: Shackles & MG 34 Mount
True about the brass versions. Just giving all the options. There is a large price difference. I have two of Mikes brass mounts and they are great. I have also fitted the white metal versions although I modified it with some brass screws to make it functional.

Re: Shackles & MG 34 Mount
(RE: Roger) Winstone's shackles are in brass. Mike's are White Metal. If you planned on chipping the paint-job for that "real-scratched-metal" look, this might be of consideration. Mike's MG.mount is fully adjustable, like the real-deal, and can be purchased as a kit or assembled. It does not however come with a gurt-sack mount, but which could be purchased separately, or easily scratch-built. The white-metal ones out there, although cheaper, tend to be "single-molded", and would require skillful cutting and drilling modification to get it on a comparable level of functionality. Hope this helps you out. PS. I also do think the white-metal might be a little too soft, and bend easily for this kind of item (MG mount).
