Re: can 2 LED's for 2 MG be installed from the same output
It works like described earlier in my setup.
Can you connect 1 LED only and get that one to work with the flash
If yes - then also try the 2 LED seperately to make sure both LED's work individually.
If yes again - I would also suspect that you have twisted the wires in some way.
I can take a picture of my wiring setup tonight and put in this post if you want to see it.

Re: can 2 LED's for 2 MG be installed from the same output
Just a teaser post but I've made up a circuit which fires one LED for the first MG sound and another LED for the second MG sound, with different rates of fire for the different apparent "calibre" sounds.
Just waiting on some white LEDs to bling it up a little
Adrian.

Interesting indeed. Now for the Cent owners, we need the sound of a .50 Browning Ranging Machine Gun firing three round bursts. Great stuff, Adrian.

Re: can 2 LED's for 2 MG be installed from the same output
Ideally, if Thomas could make the second MG sound on the Cent TBS5 a three shot ranging one, then it would be trivial to marry the sounds to the right MG barrels.
Plan B would to be to record a three shot salvo from YouTube and make a board which played the sounds and flashed the LEDs. Then you'd need some way to trigger it, without interfering with the operation of the main sound system, and amplify it.
Is it just me, or does the idea of sending off three ranging shots, followed by the main gun, sound like it was designed by a Beethoven fan
If the LEDs arrive today, I'll try and get a video posted tonight.
Adrian.

Re: can 2 LED's for 2 MG be installed from the same output
Just curious - I know of the 3 round ranging burst but typically how long before triggering the 105mm? Is it beyond our capabilities to select the .50 for 3 shots and then select main gun followed by fire? I only ask as presumably the .50 could also be used in close action against slightly less "soft" targets than the .30? I guess what Im saying (somewhat clumsily ) is should we lose the ability to fire the .50 at length in favour of just a 3 round burst?
Either way, will follow your progress with interest Adrian.
Regards

Re: can 2 LED's for 2 MG be installed from the same output
Adrian - well spotted! The sequence of thud, thud, thud, boom...... became so ingrained that one night firing, my gunner was dozing when a gunnery instructor climbed onto the back decks and rapped on the commanders hatch three times to get me to ,open up. I only just stopped my gunner from selecting main armament and shouting "firing now" (or "firing the noo" - it was a regiment of Scotsmen after all).
Kevin - in normal use, the RMG firing circuit was governed by a solenoid which selected three rounds for each press of the trigger. I believe in Vietnam, the RAAC by-passed the solenoid to allow continuous fire. You would, wouldn't you?
I once showed an ex USAAC P-51 pilot over my tank. When he saw the .50 Browning, he became quite nostalgic but pointed out that he'd sat behind six of them.
It would be great to do this Adrian, I'm sure you can make it work. Now to go and look for .50 sound files.....

Re: can 2 LED's for 2 MG be installed from the same output
3 round bursts it is then! Presume firing of the main gun remained "optional" lest the tracer rounds fell short?
Stephen (you probably know) there are 2 MG sounds on the Armortek Cent module, one sounding "heavier" and with a slower rate of fire than the other. It has a clearly defined pop pop pop sound (rather than the drum roll effect of a high r.o.f gun) which I had assumed was a 0.50 anyway?

No LEDs turned up in the post today, so the demo will have to wait another night

Sounds very similar to the Sherman TBS that I'm using to test these.
If Stephen can lend his ear and see which of them is the most realistic for the Cent, then it should be possible to make the TBS5 play the same sound for two settings on the transmitter, one as just a triple-tap and the other just as full auto.
I'll have a think...
Adrian.

Re: can 2 LED's for 2 MG be installed from the same output
A few questions:
1) Is everyone using Steve Winstone's LED based machine gun barrels
2) If not, are you using an LED based system or a light bulb based system, or something else
3) How would people prefer the output leads terminated - servo plug, servo socket, bare wires, something else
Adrian.
