The Armortek Show - 28th September

Post by Steen Vøler »

Hi all

I will be there also together with a tank colleague from our local tank club. I will be without my JagdPanther as our transportation is with commercial airline from Denmark, and on board with a JagdPanther of 150 KG as hand luggage will most likely not work  but I look forward to say hello to all and experience all the fantastic Armortek tank models in action.

Cheers

Look forward to meeting in person all of those attending.

I plan on bringing a few samples with me for display and hope to have a few new parts to be shown for the first time.

Regards
Mike

Hi Guys

Planning my trip for the Open Day is in progress. I am making a offer to all those attending in hopes of covering some of my expenses. Go to the Craftsman's Market for details. I will save you some cash.

Update: Armortek Open Day - 2013

Post by Armortek »

Hi All,

Behind the scenes, plans continue, and we can now confirm more details for the Armortek Customer Day on 28th September.

It seems that many of you have already planned your trip and it looks like we are going to have the best gathering of Armortek models and customers to date at this event! Not only will this be an opportunity to meet other owners and share your build experiences, but also to display your models to the visiting public.

We will be located in the Tamiya hall and will have plenty of room to display and run the models. We have now confirmed that the top prize for best model in show, to be judged by the panel of museum experts, will be a ride in a Main Battle Tank to take place during Autumn Half term (w/c 26th October 2013).

Access to the museum to unload your models will be either Friday evening up to 7pm or from 8am on the Saturday, further details on this arrangement will be confirmed nearer the time.

On the Saturday you will be able to stay in the Museum until 6pm in order to have the opportunity to take photos of your models with their life size counterparts!

We will be joined by traders selling 1/6 scale accessories and related items, 'a real life Craftsman's Market'. (note to traders, please contact us directly for more information).

There will be 'Auction lots' of Armortek models (kits/part builds/prototypes) details to be confirmed!

A running Centurion Model is going to be raffled, tickets will be available between Tankfest and the event, with the draw taking place on the Saturday. All proceeds from the raffle to be donated to the Tank Museum.

We will continue to post further details of the event as these are confirmed, including more information on the 'talks and tours of the workshops' that will be available.

We are now going to start a list for all those coming. If you wish to come, please can you e-mail directly (sales@armortek.co.uk) with the following information.

Name of customer attending,
Model/s you will be bringing.
extra passes needed for qualifying friends/family*

*The Tank Museum are keen that we have as many models on show as possible, they in turn are promoting the day as the 'Armortek Show' and are going to be publicising the event at the Museum and through their website and social media. Entrance tickets for the day will be issued free to all customers bringing a model and in addition, for every additional model you bring, a family member or friend can also come in free. All others, including friends and family will be charged at the discounted group rate. Return free entry will be given for the following day (Sunday 29th). Your passes will also entitle you to a 10% discount in the restaurant.

The Museum are doing a great job promoting this event, with posters like the one above around the museum as well as a giant version outside at the entrance to the museum. We are expecting to have lots of public attending on the day to see all of your amazing model builds. We will also be advertising the day in the press.

We have been asked by a couple of customers if it is OK to bring models other than Armortek. We know that there are a few people who have build some amazing scratch builds and we would be pleased to see these at the show, we just ask that you also bring at least one Armortek model. Obviously as it is an 'Armortek Show' it would not be appropriate to bring models from other manufacturers.

We are also happy for anyone who wishes to sell associated and after market products. Already confirmed are Dave Dibb from Armorpax, Tim Catton, Steve Winstone, Russell from Barbarossa Books, and Lee Sellars. Please let me know if you wish to be added to the list, and if those above wish to post below to let others know what they will be selling on the day I am sure that would be appreciated.

We will be sending passes to everyone who has contacted us to say they are attending and will aim to post these two weeks before the day. Please let us know as soon as you can, preferably by e-mail if you wish to attend and have not yet been in touch.

Thank you.
