Merc coupe

Post by John Clarke »

Hi Padge
The Merc coupe is one of those strange chineze models 1/5 scale, but closer to 1/6
with some crazy add on's. R/C, Lights, sound and a curious disco light to rock sound function
from the spare wheel. Makes a good looking staff car though delicate in construction.
Nice to see Adolf driving and enjoying a real one. Red was his favorite colour.
Driving down a new Auto ban with no hands, should have rung a few bells.
Still, if it had not been for him, would there have been King Tiger?

Hi John,

Thanks for getting back to me. I hadn't noticed the scale difference. The pictures look great. The contrast between the elegance of the staff car with its high ranking officials as compared to the soldiers who served them, who had very few of the comforts of a staff car. I cant imagine that any KT had plush letter seats.
Your KT look great too. Its one of those tanks that you just want to keep going back to, to have another look.

Thanks again

Regards

Padge

I think the king tiger seats were probably leather covered. Tiger seats certainly were. Driver snd radio operator had fairly comfy seats. Looks like a big job keeping the roadster polished.

I have'nt put many pictures of 008 recently. This was taken at Stoke Model Boat Navy day last year. I know it's not a boat, but once 008 was in the car there was no room for anything else. When the mud dried it looked just like the real stuff errr cos it is.

With the latest project there's no room in the car for me too.

Hi John,
Love your beautiful KT-both interiors and exteriors.
The even bigger Chieftain beside, must also be a nice project. Can we share some more details as well-either openly or privately? :D
Best regards,

Hi Paul & Chang
Glad you like them.

The chieftain is very old girl, her running gear is long gone. May look at an Amortek setup to bring her back to life. She is a prototype Chieftan mk1 a little over 1/5 scale, I suppose a "sales pitch" left over a distant age when armour had to be serously thick for a tank to protect itself.
She is built very high standard much like an Armortek model with castings, plate and soild brass fittings. Imperial fixings date her, but the shape is very good, tracks and suspension like the real thing. I think she should stay as she was designed pretty in silver. I can think of another sales pitch, not exactly a KT though was it? M47?
Anyway paul when are we going to get another ration of the Heavy Jagdpanzer?

Re: Chieftain Mk1

Hi John,
Thanks for the info about this beautiful 1/5 metal Chieftain. It's an unique one!
As you've said, the (Horstman)suspensions are in good condition. Can you share some photos of them? :D (Sorry to off the topic of KT.)

Cheers,

Lerh Chang
PS: The scaled M-47 in the movie looks like in 1/5 as well. Wonder where it is now, after the movie? :?:
