Tiger 1 Driver's Interior Vision Port Assembly AGAIN
Hi everyone
More house cleaning parts found. Only a few of these left.
These were the first prototype parts I made of the driver's vision port interior detail. They are slightly over scale but will still add a nice detail to the interior front wall of your Tiger 1. Designed with a functional glass block door, you can easily add a plex block.
Shown Painted
Development and more photos can be seen here
http://www.armortek.co.uk/Forum3b/viewt ... &start=225
Pricing
Tiger 1 Driver's interior Vision Port Assembly $60.00 (plus postage)
PM or email if you are interested.
Thanks
Tim

Re: Tiger 1 Driver's Interior Vision Port Assembly****SOLD O
Hi Bob
Thanks for your interest in the parts. Unless there is enough interest to make another five sets (or so) It wont be very cost effective. However, when I send out some more parts for other projects, I can have it quoted if you like, and let you know.
Kindest regards
Tim

Yes please tim, would like a quote when you're in a position to go. I'm guessing with the late tiger issue this year you should get more orders

Re: Tiger 1 Driver's Interior Vision Port Assembly AGAIN
Tim,
Superlative parts.
Not something I am looking to add to my Tiger rebuild, but very impressed by the quality of the STL output. Did you clean up a rapid prototype master and recast in resin or are the photos of the RP master? In which case would you share the type of the 3D Printer used and the resolution the parts were printed at?
RP is such a growth area, and one I am itching to explore, but very hard to get a feel for the price/quality balance.
Any pointers gratefully received!
Thanks, Fabrice

Re: Tiger 1 Driver's Interior Vision Port Assembly AGAIN
Hi Fabrice
Thank you for your kind words.
If you change your mind, just let me know. The parts above pictured in grey are the actual parts off the SLA machine. I haven't figured out how to have time to mold and cast parts for others and still have time for my own projects. The material all my parts are made from is a 'high-impact' resin that is supposed to be similar to the properties of injection molded ABS. So far it's the best compromise for durability and decent finish (meaning minimal clean up before paint). I can give you all the boring property figures for it if you like such as tensile modules, solid density, blah blah blah. They are a "standard" finish. I can check on the exact machine and get back to you on that.
The only software I use is Solidworks (only because that's what I started on and self-taught on).
As to the price vs. quality, only you can answer that. "Printed" parts will not be the same quality finish as "SLA" parts. Two processes that result in a 3D part but one is more "budget" and the other "not-so-budget". There's a place for both depending on what you are after. The former will require much more clean up and won't give you the fine, or small details you may have on a part.
Happy to try and answer any specific questions for you if I can.
kind regards
Tim

Re: Tiger 1 Driver's Interior Vision Port Assembly AGAIN
Hi Simon
I apologize. I should have included a few of those so I could get you your quote. Will follow up as soon as I can.
Photos of one of the new sets. As mentioned in my fist post, the ones I made first were slightly over scale. The new ones are the correct scale.
Will try and get them in the post tomorrow to those who have ordered them. I will send an email directly to you with postage details.
Kind regards
Tim
