Thanks for your observations, Simon, John and Phil.
Ensconced in the garage again.....fortunately the Sun was blazing away through the doors so, not quite so cold. Very time consuming......hand filing. I'm scared to death I will file away too much metal on the gun mount. I am almost there though....the barrel pivot is moving freely.
The mild steel angle bracket,I chose because the extra weight acts as a counter balance to the long gun barrel. A little bit of lateral thinking The Sun has now gone down so, it's inside for tea and crumpets.....Mick

A few photo's of my working area in the cold garage.......band saw sits on the washing machine, bench vice on the cleaning implements cupboard, spray booth and grinder on the workbench.....can't use the workbench to easily, as the tank trailer is in the way

Hello Nick, thanks for your comment. I know some of my photographs are incidental to building tanks.....however I include them to show that you can build to a good standard with minimal tools and space.
I have lifted the upper hull onto wood blocks to allow space for fitting the elevation and slew motors. Not looking forward to cutting out the recoil servo 'location' in the steel angle bracket. I may just get away with fitting the servo upright.....will have to wait and see......Mick

Your garage/Tank Depot looks well organised,but what is the bag of cement for?

Hello Phil, thank you for your reply. The cement is there for a small wall I have to build in the garden......it was one of those comments ie, 'you need to build a small wall there'.....
Now for your next quiz, ( observation ) I have hidden a 'rubber eraser' in the last photo, to erase my mistakes......can you spot it ???

You should have given it a coat of primer

If you need any help with the electronics for the recoil I can provide any of the bits from the current system.

Well spotted Adrian, thank you also for your kind offer reference the 'recoil system'. Gill had mentioned that you may be able to offer help.I will most certainly bear that in mind.
At the moment the conversion is going well. However, my modelling history is one of, (if it can go wrong, it probably will)

Question time, I have started a dry fit of the Elevation and Slew motors. I have assumed that the Slew/Turret motor is one and the same on the Jagpanther.
For the main gun I have two of the same type G38 motors. One motor fitted with a plug, one motor without a plug.
So, I have connected the Slew/Turret motor to the lead on the Auxiliary Module as the plug and socket match each other.
The other motor has a lead with two 'spades' but no plug/socket.
The turret sub loom with the two limit switches has two plug/sockets. One plug/socket has yellowgreen/black leads. The other plug/socket has black/black leads. I am unsure which of these plug/sockets to use.????
My instruction book shows the sub loom, with coloured leads, that do not match my sub loom.

Hi Mick

Both your motors should have had identical plugs on them. The slew motor connects directly to the aux module, as you have done. The elevation motor connects to the matching socket on the end of the turret sub loom (the one with two black cables). We can send you a plug.

Thanks for your prompt reply Mark....it was the missing plug which threw me, I know that as the plugs/sockets are different you can't get them the wrong way round, thanks again......Mick
