Hi Bob,

Yes the Geisswerk links are a work of art.
I gave myself a set of 10 Panther links in x-mas present a year ago to be used as spare ones hanging from the pannier sides.

I was stunned how accurate they were in every detail beside the pins. And yes, they are heavy.
That accuracy is a problem for us Armortek users if we would like to use them in the drive train.
The problem is that they will eat any sprocket ring if not made of steel.
Another problem is that the Armortek sprockets are made with smaller free space between the sprockets ring and the dead accurate Geisswerk links will jam.



Another thing with the T34 as it has no sprocket ring and I know of at least one Armortek owner that will have the Geisswerk T34 nice heavy links on his model.

Thanks for info kent. I really did fancy a set for my tiger 1 but youre right they will eat the sprocket rings. Wonder where i can get steel ones from!

It is possible to space the rings wider though i would think

Please note the 1:6th Tiger links they make is the Verladenkette, the narrow type, only used at railroad transport.
The "normal" type with chevrons they only make in 1:10.



Maybe it is possible convert the standard kit sprocket and get the needed free space between new maybe sprocket rings of steel, but that is a massive undertaking.

Hi Bob,

I can highly recommend Das Giesswerk as I bought Tiger II tracklinks from him back in 2010 and they are just great - only drawback is the colour. Here are the tracklinks for a 1/6 Tiger II in my case the Jagdtiger;



And here I´m scrutinizing his drawings together with Das Giesserei Meister himself;




As for reworking the drivewheel it´s not that hard - add a bit of extra material, work on it in your lathe and Bob´s your uncle. As for the sprocket ring in steel it´s quite easy too with all the laser cutting companies around instead of milling these by hand. I had my sprocket rings for the late single Tiger II tracks (from Piekenbrink) made this way, see here;



I´m not sure he got the guide teeth right on the Tiger I transport tracks though as they should look the standard ones, see these Tiger I transport tracks found in Hungary.

Thanks for the info. Will definitly consider brass tracks for my KT. They will finish it nicely
