Wear your poppies with pride today. Poppies represent all fallen commonwealth soldiers regardless of race and and faith. Also a thought for serving servicemen.

Well said Bob, We should all remember in this hobby, those that fell, and gave everything fighting for what they believed in and their fellow man.
We will remember.

Re: Lest we forget
Hi Guys
This was sent to me by an old army pal .
Just thought some of you lads would like it.
Fear Naught tankies.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Steve

Well said all.
And this on the Kohima memorial in Burma:
"When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say,
For Their Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today"

Re: Lest we forget
Today my Sons Peter and Rory were playing in the Brass Band that supported the Remembrance Service at the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Botley, Oxford. It is one of many such places tucked in odd corners of this country where you would not necessarily expect, and so it brings things home, as the style and design of the cemetery links you to the thousands of others around the globe especially on a day like today.
The cemetery is the resting place of nations from both sides and it is good that there were Military Personnel from Britain and the Commonwealth plus Germany and Italy there to lay wreaths. Reconciliation and Remembrance to give hope for the future.

As a Vietnam veteran, 1968-69,and a former member of the 101st Airborne Division, November 11th has always held special meaning for me. I know I am not alone with those emotions.
