Important Read for Customers. Policy Changes

Post by Mike Stannard (toyrific) »

Hi Guys

I have made the final decisions on the new ordering and production policy. I will try to get the price list and catalog updated to reflect these changes before December 1st when the new policy takes effect.

By placing orders and paying a deposit before December 1, 2012 you can save money. I will honor current published prices to all those that pay a 25% deposit by that date.

Here are the main changes.
1. Prices in the catalog will only be listed for the kits. Unless listed as assemble parts with prices, or the part does not allow me to sell as a kit.
2. I will offer a service fee to build any of the kits. For service fee prices see below.
3. Parts that are available for assembly by me will still be listed in the catalog, under the price column it will read. SFA "Service Fee Applied"
4. After December 1, 2012 I will not be accepting deposits on orders of less than $500.00
5. Orders over $500.00 I will take a 25% deposit with the balance due when order is ready to ship. This does not apply to orders that require a build service.
6. Full payment of kits is required at the time of placing the order that require a build service. The build service fee will be required once order is ready to ship.
6. Some kit prices will be increased due to increase in my production cost and material. I have not increased my kit prices in over two years. I will be increasing some kit prices by around 10% to cover my increase in costs.

Figuring of the service fee build costs. Parts that are offered as assembled parts or do not require assembly should not be included in figuring out your build service cost. I will send you a full invoice once I receive your order showing the parts cost and the build service fee.

To get and idea of your costs you can use the following formula. These prices are of your total order regardless of order content. But only multiply the cost of parts that are being assembled.

Orders of $500.00 or less add 125% of parts cost.
Orders of $501.00 or more add 120% of parts cost
Orders of $1001.00 or more add 115% of parts cost
Orders of $1501.00 or more add 110% of parts cost
Orders of $2001.00 or more add 105% of parts cost
Orders of $2501.00 or more add 100% of parts cost
Orders over $3000.00 add 95% of parts cost

Example Order.
Parts to be built
TT14BK Tiger 1 Driver and Radio Op Deluxe Hatch Set Kit $140.00
TT15K Tiger 1 Loaders Hatch Set as a Kit $85.00
TT16AK Tiger 1 Escape Hatch Dec 42-Jul 43 as TT16a as a Kit $75.00
TT23K Tiger 1 Front Mudguards as TT23 as a Kit $150.00
TT25K Tiger 1 Rear Mudguards Late Type as TT25 as a Kit $150.00
TT32K Tiger 1 Turret Stowage Bin (Bin Lids shaped and assembled) as a kit $350.00
TT37K-1/2E Tiger 1 and 2 Late Cupola Kit .T1 Late-T2 Early $350.00
TT49-01FK Tiger 1 20 Ton Long Jack Functional w/working brackets and clamp as a kit $180.00
Parts that are already priced as assemble or do not require assembly.
TT18B Tiger 1. Sternantenne D Deluxe Set $225.00
88-36HE-C10 88 mm Kw.K 36 HE Round with Cooper Case X 10 (All Metal) $200.00

Total order is $1950.00 which means your build service is 110%. The parts to be built cost $1480.00
$1480.00 x 110% = $1628.00. Total cost of order $3578.00

For international buyers this new policy could save you money on import duty and VAT.

You will be invoiced for the parts on one invoice and the service fee on another invoice once the order is almost ready to ship.

At your request I can ship the parts to you assembled, but with the invoice showing only the kit prices. This means you will only pay duty and VAT on the kit prices. However you will only have insurance coverage for that amount. The build service will not be covered by the insurance.

If you want full insurance including the build service you can request it. But it may mean you have to pay duty and VAT on the build service.

I as I have customers in 26 counties I cannot work out all the duties and wether VAT is applied in all these counties. I look at the UK import duty and VAT regulations. It appears to me that services done outside the UK are not subject to VAT unless the county of original has a VAT system, it appears VAT is applied at the rate of the country of origin of were the service was done. As the USA has no VAT then I assume VAT can not be applied on the service on import. Now I am no expert on this and it might take someone in the UK to ask the right questions to find out.

Anyway if you are willing to take the risk, you can save a lot of money on import. In 8 years I have only lost one parcel and that was a uninsured one. A few have been returned to me due to a address error or the person moved and did not let me know the new address.

I am hoping this new policy will save me a lot of time by not having to spend hours at the work bench assembling parts. In turn this will give me more time to work on packing and shipping orders, plus time to produce new products and give you all the service you desearve for supporting me. If I try to continue the way I work at the moment I am going to lose the business as no one wants to wait 6 months or more for their parts. I will try this for a few months and if things do not get better then I will resort to selling only products in kit form, period.

Sincerely
