Hello to all,

here is a short update to my model. I am still waiting for the motion pack, so I worked on the gun inside the turret. First I checked, if there is enough place inside the turret, to rebuild the gun and place two figures inside the turret. With some compromises it should work!

Next steps are the construction of the barrel inside the turret and the construction of an new elevation gear. Thats why the handwheel turns only less the 360°. With the new gear, the handwheel will be rotated by al small motor which is operated in parallel to the elevation motor. Then, the gunner should crank properly.

Hello,

just a short update. Since my last report I have modified the suspension by changing the springs to shorter ones. The ground clearance is still 10mm to much, but the suspension looks more realistic now.



After getting the motion pack I started to install all the components. It is not easy, because I will need the place beyond the turret for the figures.

The Speed Module and the Auxiliary Module can be placed beyond the turret.

Lovely work on your T34-76,a very interesting build to follow.
Even your gunner seemed to be getting a bit excited in your vidio clip
You have certainly been making good use of the limited space available.

Hello,

just a short update, what I did on the model last week. I started modifying, the periscope. The plan is to show the periscope with opened cap. so I removed the cap from the periscope part and milled a hollow cap from plastic.
Then I made a lever for the turret hatch and a new storage box.
The rest of the time I spent the animation of the gunner and also of the gun. The gun movement is realized by a servo which is operated by a Pololu module and the sound module.

Hi,

here is a short update from the last days. First of all, the model ran for a first time in the garden last weekend. Every thing worked very well.
The last days I could make some welds and the surface of the turret. And I got all parts for my self made sound box, which was designed by my son. It was necessary because of the limited space, while using the place beyond the turret for the figurs. For the sound box I used an 40 W amplifier, a diplexer, two subwoofer and one tweeter.

The recoil is realized by a digital servo which is controlled by a Pollolu Maestro-12 module and trigered by the Benedini sound module.
