Re: T34/76 No 183 Factory (29/2011)
Hello to all,
here is a short update to my model. I am still waiting for the motion pack, so I worked on the gun inside the turret. First I checked, if there is enough place inside the turret, to rebuild the gun and place two figures inside the turret. With some compromises it should work!
The bracket for the elevation gear and handwheel handle
The cover for the gear
The elevation gear closed
The handwheel handle fixed
The gun base (rescaled from a 1/35 model)
Mounted to the mantlet
Elevation handwheel handle in place
Test installation inside the turret
Next steps are the construction of the barrel inside the turret and the construction of an new elevation gear. Thats why the handwheel turns only less the 360°. With the new gear, the handwheel will be rotated by al small motor which is operated in parallel to the elevation motor. Then, the gunner should crank properly.

Re: T34/76 No 183 Factory (29/2011)
Hello,
just a short update. Since my last report I have modified the suspension by changing the springs to shorter ones. The ground clearance is still 10mm to much, but the suspension looks more realistic now.
After getting the motion pack I started to install all the components. It is not easy, because I will need the place beyond the turret for the figures.
The Speed Module and the Auxiliary Module can be placed beyond the turret.
the engine replica is in place
the Power Supply and the Lipo is placed over the main motors
at the machine gunners position is still place
the place in the turret is very short
the remaining space for the sound boxes (self construction)
and last bu not least a short movie with the gunner in action

Hi Gunter.
Lovely work on your T34-76,a very interesting build to follow.
Even your gunner seemed to be getting a bit excited in your vidio clip
You have certainly been making good use of the limited space available.
Keep the pictures and vidio's coming.
Regards
Phil

Hello,
today I integrated the driver to the system. He is now animated in parallel to the speed controller.

Re: T34/76 No 183 Factory (29/2011)
Hello,
just a short update, what I did on the model last week. I started modifying, the periscope. The plan is to show the periscope with opened cap. so I removed the cap from the periscope part and milled a hollow cap from plastic.
Then I made a lever for the turret hatch and a new storage box.
The rest of the time I spent the animation of the gunner and also of the gun. The gun movement is realized by a servo which is operated by a Pololu module and the sound module.
A short movie with the movement of the gun

Periscope modifications
hatch lever
new cap
new storage box
Thats it for today.

Re: T34/76 No 183 Factory (29/2011)
Hi,
here is a short update from the last days. First of all, the model ran for a first time in the garden last weekend. Every thing worked very well.
The last days I could make some welds and the surface of the turret. And I got all parts for my self made sound box, which was designed by my son. It was necessary because of the limited space, while using the place beyond the turret for the figurs. For the sound box I used an 40 W amplifier, a diplexer, two subwoofer and one tweeter.
welds at the drivers hatch and the hull front
the bump over the hatch is also added
the modified surface of the turret
the periscope cap
the digital servo for the drivers hatch
the front side of the self made sound box
some welds at the hinges
the welds ath the turret
the eyelets added at the turret roof
welds at the turret hatch hinges and the periscope cap
the welds at the vent cover
the welds at the turret front and the visors
the locking for the turret hatch
A short movie from the sound synchronous recoil and the drivers hatch
http://www.panther-tanks.de/T34/M4H011071.wmv
The recoil is realized by a digital servo which is controlled by a Pollolu Maestro-12 module and trigered by the Benedini sound module.
