Regarding the motorcycle scissor lift, i got sealy model MC5908. It is wider than the others so very stable. It was necessary to fit an extension to the lever but it was easy to sort and works really well.

Hello, I am about to start on the upper hull 'welds'. I feel sure I have seen an article where a member used 'Gripfill'. I would ask whether this method was successful, or should I use 'Milliput'. There are a lot of joints to fill.....Mick

I havent seen the gripfill article,but I think it might be the Green Gripfill that
builders use that fills gaps and bonds almost anything to any thing.
Had a quick look on google and Ironmongary direct sell it at £1.72 350ml tube for
the normal mastic guns.
Might be worth getting one to experiment on a bit of scrap metal.
So you can find out how quick it goes off and how easy it works.
I think you have allready used Milliput so you know how easy it is to use and
plenty of time to rework if you dont like it.

Hi Guys
I used Green grip fill on the panther and the stug It sticks very well and
can be worked if needed for some time.
I use a small hole in the knozzel and as you inject it gives a ridged effect I then
tooled it with a blade to get the right effect.

It may be in the stug build blog or my panther on I cant remember.

Thank you both, Phil and Derek, I will try the green Gripfill on some spare item. I feel that the Gripfill will fill the larger gaps and that more control over the welds be the result. So, I will give it a try.
Practice, practice, practice, as the saying goes. Here's another one, measure twice, cut once.
Phil, did you manage to get to the Air Show ????
Our Windermere holiday was a bit of a washout.....never mind, enjoyed the 'rest'.

Hi Michael.

Never tried the Grip fill idea good luck, have used it a lot at work though . . .you may find that warming the tube somehow possibly a hair dryer should make life easier its very hard to use if the tube is cold or been on the shelf a long time .

Yes I went to the International Air Day Yeovilton,Only had a little
sprinkle of rain for about ten minutes,show was a bit depleted of the
modern fast jets and the Vulcan broke down so was not there.
RIAT at Fairford Gloucestershire is next,this Sunday,might get a bit of rain
expected and possibly thunder storm.
This will be a good show though

Hello Phil, hello Paul, thank you for your replies. I will be trying the Gripfill. Paul, the 'Lakes' were beautiful, between showers.
My knee decided to throw a six, I ended up in Lancaster General Hospital, casualty. Settled down again now, the knee that is.
Pleased you enjoyed the Air Show Phil. A good day out. Spent a fortune in my younger years visiting various Air Shows. Fairford is brilliant. Enjoy the day.....Mick

After displaying the Comet at a couple of shows this year, one or two problems have arisen......namely, knocking bits off. The most vulnerable areas being....the spotlight, birdcage sight, aerials etc,. So, mindful that most of the damage is done while transporting the beast. I have knocked up a frame of sorts, to keep the waterproof cover and bungee ties clear of the turret.....
